How this calculator works
Attic jobs are priced on the roof-deck area showing mold. We multiply that by the attic rate (which runs a little higher than finished rooms because of the cramped, hot working conditions) and add a flat amount for fixing ventilation and post-job testing — because attic mold is almost always a ventilation problem.

The judgment most inspectors apply: if it is confined to a small area and the moisture source is fixed, monitoring is reasonable; if it covers a slope or the sheathing is soft, it needs professional removal.
Will insurance cover attic mold?
Only if it followed a sudden covered event — a storm breach or a burst pipe in the attic.
